NOAA Fisheries will hold a meeting of the Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel May 14-16, 2024. This meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast via webinar.

 

What: Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel Spring 2024 Meeting.

 

When: Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET

             Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET

             Thursday, May 16, 2024, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. ET

 

Where: The meeting will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Silver Spring Hotel, 8777 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The meeting will also be accessible via WebEx webinar/conference call. Conference call and webinar access information are available on our event page. Webinar participants are encouraged to join 15 minutes prior to the meeting.

 

Details: The intent of the Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel meeting is to consider options for the conservation and management of Atlantic Highly Migratory Species.

 

Discussion topics will include:

• Outcomes of the 2023 International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas Annual Meeting

• Atlantic bluefin tuna fishery update: management and recent trends

• Atlantic shark fishery update: management and recent trends

• Amendment 15 to the 2006 Consolidated Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Fishery Management Plan regarding spatial management

• Atlantic highly migratory species fishing gear considerations

 

Other NOAA Fisheries offices and the U.S. Coast Guard will provide updates, if available, on activities relevant to Atlantic highly migratory species fisheries. The full agenda will be posted prior to the meeting on our event page.
